I'm having a quiet and peaceful Easter. Catching up on some study after a huge week of stuff that I couldn't get out of.

The Currently Meme

Okay, I'm in a bit of a state at the moment - too much on, a lot of challenges, so this has come at the right time. What is going on at the moment.

Meme, as always, comes from Sunday Stealing.

Currently, I am...

Reading

A.B.Facey's "A Fortunate Life". Rather good it is for an Australian Classic.

Writing

This meme, my tute paper for the week and in the background, the great Australian dystopian novel.

Playing

Scared. My blanket fort made up of the ironing board is still covered with blankets there for me to hide under.

Watching

A wonderful interview with Kerry O'Brien interviewing Clive James. Love Clive James.

Trying

To work out why so much is going on in my life at the moment.

Cooking

Nothing at the moment - I'll cook something once Monday is over.

Drinking

Strawberry milk. yeah, I know - I find strawberry quick comforting.

Calling

Mum - but she's been out all morning.

Pinning

The odd recipe.

Tweeting

Nothing - I really don't use Twitter.

Crafting

Just finishing a baby blanket for Georgie and Thom's soon-to-be-here bairn.

Doing

The procrastination thing. I have too much to do, should really not be writing this - or organising the Tupperware party I'm hosting in a few weeks.

Going

Slighty batty, but there is nothing new there.

Loving

Dr Blake. Please don't tell anybody, but I'm a closet romantic.

Hating

The Neo-Con politicians and religious right who are dominating our politics at the moment. Horrible, horrible people.

Re-Discovering

The joys of Talking Heads.

Enjoying

Listening to Clive James. Tis a pity he may not have too much longer on the planet.

Thinking

About how we might get rid of some of the religious right out of our governments.

Feeling

Rather overwhelmed. I should be right after tomorrow night, once the ceremony is over (I'm being made Grand Poobah of our lodge - this is doing my head in)

Missing

The feeling that I'm in control of things.

Hoping

That everything goes well tomorrow night.

Listening

To Clive James reading from his translation of Dante's Inferno - the man is a genius.

Celebrating

My first Tupperware Party. It only took 47 years.

Smelling

Currently wearing Issey Miyake perfume. Nice.

Thanking

My Guardian Angels that I'm still here - nearly got T-Boned yesterday while driving home from meditation. Some idiot ran a red light. It's left me rattled.

Considering

Running away and joining the circus. Just have to get through tomorrow night...

Starting

Another novel. A new journey. Yay.

The Healthy Meme

It's a long weekend. I have study to get through - and the flat needs cleaning before the imminent arrival of a house guest next week (cat - what's new). Get the meme out of the way, then I can concentrate on the study. That sounds like a plan.

The questions, as always, have been provided by Sunday Stealing.

When was the last time you got a nose bleed?

Not for many, many years. I used to get them a lot as a child.

Do you keep magazines by your toilet?

Ew. No. That room stays free of any non-required accouterments.

If you were a waiter/waitress, would you make good tips?

The thought of working in a service industry with the general public holds no interest. I would be an okay waitress, but as we pay our servers a decent salary here (thank goodness) they don't have to rely on tips.

Have you ever stolen a road sign or traffic barrier?

No, but I had a no parking sign in my room at college for a year.

What are the best kind of Girl Scout cookies?

That's an American thing - no idea.

When was the last time you purchased alcohol?

I had a cider with dinner on Tuesday at book group. Just the one.

Do you find it attractive when a guy actually shows his feelings?

As long as it's done appropriately, they yes. Better in than out.

Are you a fussy eater?

No. I'll give everything a try, though I'm not fond of bananas or lasagna.

List everything you ate and drank today:

Water, fruit toast and marmalade, a large skinny cappuccino.  It is lunchtime so I will go and make something soon.

How are you sitting?

At my table by the window. My posture could be better.

Waiting for something?

The inspiration to hit to do my tutorial paper for the week.

Do you like pretzels?

They're not my favourite snack food, but I love the German soft ones that are filled with butter.

Do you wait until you’ve completely finished a certain makeup product before you buy a new one?

No. My twenty red lipsticks are testament to this.

Did you wake up before 8:00 a.m. this morning?

Yes. And I got a  bit more of my book read.

Have you ever told anyone you were okay when you really weren’t?

Yes. I spent most of January doing that. Grief does this to you.

Do you have reason to cry right now?

No. Spent January crying. Over that now, thank goodness.

How many sodas a week do you have?

I'm not really a fan of soft drink - I'll have one or two, normally when I go out. Prefer soda water with  dash of lime.

Do you shop at Victoria’s Secret?

No. I prefer underwear with natural fibres - and looks comfortable.

Are you into sports?

Not really, but I love going to the gym.

Can you easily touch your toes?

No. Working on that one.

What did the last shoes you wore look like?

Blue ASICS Kayano runners.

What do you currently hear?

The hum of the refrigerator and a bit of street noise in the distance. That's it.

Have you ever done yoga?

Love yoga. In particular, I love Yin Yoga. I would love to do more of it. It's great.

Do you text a lot?

I don't text as much as  a teenager, but it is my preferred  way of communication.

Do you have a fax machine at home?

No. Of course not. Didn't they go out with the dinosaurs?

Do you know anyone who has diabetes?

I know a lot of people with diabetes. It's this reason which keeps me in the gym - exercise is good for keeping it at bay. I know people with both Type 1 and Type 2.

Have you ever had to block anyone online?

Yes. Thankfully, mostly it's random idiots.

Are you afraid of thunder and lightning?

No. Love a good thunderstorm - though I prefer that they stay a polite distance away.

Are you a shop-a-holic?

No. And as I'm currently in 'povo" mode (Being careful with money for the next month or two) I'm just getting in the basics.

Are you healthy?

On the whole, yes. Need to lose some weight, otherwise the rest if me is in rude health.

Garage Sale Meme

Right, time to get this done. I'm going back to work tomorrow after eleven weeks off. To say I'm truly grateful is an understatement. Really looking to being back in a routine again.

Questions, as always, are from Sunday Stealing:

Is your phone right next to you, or at least close by?

It's on the couch about three metres away.

What windows or tabs are open on your computer right now?

A couple of uni sessions, facebook and my blogger page.

Is your phone a touch screen?

Yes. Thank goodness for iPhones.

Who is the last person to call you?

My pimp. Actually it was my recruitment consultant, who I refer to as my pimp. She sells my services on to people. That is another name for a pimp? Yes. Actually, she's a great person.

What was the last movie you watched?

I went and saw Spotlight today for the second time with Emm. It deserved the Oscar.

What are you doing tomorrow?

Starting my new role, going to the gym, starting what I call 'Povo Mode'. As I won't be paid for at least a fortnight, I have to conserve money.

Are you in a good mood?

I'm not in a bad mood. Middling is what I'd call it.

Do you think exes can remain friends?

Yes, but the breakup has had to have been an amicable one and you need some pretty solid boundaries in place.

Are you starting to realize anything?

I'm not as thick as I think I am.

Do you follow rules or break them?

Normally follow them, but there are times rules need to get turfed out the window.

Are you currently looking forward to anything?

Book group on Tuesday. Maybe going down to Coronet Bay on the weekend to visit a friend's holiday house.

Could you go a day without eating?

Yes, but I do get 'hangry' (angry/hungry)

How many bracelets do you have on your wrists right now?

Only my fitbit.

Do you scream stuff out the car window?

No, I don't want to contribute to the road rage epidemic around here.

Do you have reason to smile right now?

Yes. I'm going back to work tomorrow. Yay.

What do you do when you need to relax?

Exercise, read, go to the movies, Spend time with animals.

What are you listening to right now?

The telly. To be specific, Call the Midwife on Channel 2.

What’s your greatest fear?

Snakes and huntsman spiders.

Do you have a best friend?

Yes and no. I have two people I'd call my best friends. They are both wonderful, but they serve very different functions in my life.

Are you afraid of death?

NO. I'm afraid of the pain of dying, but not death itself.

Do you open up to people easily?

Superficially, yes. Deeply, well that takes time. I'm quite guarded.

Has anyone upset you in the last week?

Not in the last week. The week before I had a doozy of a blue with somebody. That's been cleared up now.

What’s your favorite drink?

Gin and Tonic. Coffee if I have to.

What are you craving?

A cuddle. Man or beast will do.

How did you sleep last night?

Pretty well, thank you.

Would you ever consider turning your house into a B&B?

No. My landlord would not allow it.

Poached Eggs on Toast. I made them. Yum.

Do you have anything more important you should be doing right now?

Probably getting everything ready for tomorrow morning, but that's nearly done.

Have you ever eaten tofu, and if so, did you enjoy it?

I had tofu and bean chilli yesterday. I made it. I'm good with tofu. The more you spice it the better it is.

What was the last type of meat you ate?

Chicken. I had a chicken sandwich this evening.

What color is your toothpaste?

White. Sensodyne is normally white. What an odd question.

Have you taken any medication today?

Yes. Just my normal pill and blood pressure tablet.

Have you ever inhaled helium?

Many years ago.

Have you set an alarm today?

I've just set the alarm on my phone for 6.30 tomorrow morning.

Do you keep up-to-date with current news and events?

I do. sometimes I wish I didn't.

Have you asked someone for advice today?

No. All is good at the moment.

What color is your shampoo?

Yellow. I've been using the same stuff for years.

Have you watched more than an hour of TV today?

Just. I've only watched Call the Midwife and whatever is on the telly now (a doco on paedophile priests. It's a bit of a theme today.

Ever wake up early on Saturdays to go Garage Sale shopping?

No. It's not something we do around here, but I do love a good charity shop.
