Spring Cleaning

One thing comes from Spring Cleaning
Is more dust
The realisation
That you own too many books
That you will probably never read
But can't stand to get rid of
Which will only accumulate more dust
As you place them back
On the freshly wiped down shelving.

The other thing that arises from Spring Cleaning
Other than the taking
Of a surreptitious antihistamine
Is the feeling that in a years time
The process will be repeated.
Except there will be more books.
And more dust.
