Sunday Stealing Jobs Blog

This Sunday Stealing Meme is a bit of a tradition now. Do a job, do a question or two, do a job, write a question or two.

Questions, as always, from Sunday Stealing:

(Coffee ground, washing hung out)

1. What was the highlight of your week?

Strangely, the highlight of my week was on Thursday night at the gym. After a pretty intense session with Slap, he made us try a new exercise - what I will refer to as "bondage planks". Plank position with your feet in the stirrups of the TRX band. I lasted a minute. I was stoked.

I also got to read tarot the other night for a party of sixteen year old girls. I wasn't looking forward to this at all, but they turned out to be some of the nicest kids I'd met in a long time. Restored a bit of my faith in youth, which was pretty nice indeed.

(Bed made)

2. Whose car were you in last?

Mine. This morning. Drove to the gym. Of other people, I was in Jay's car last night. She picked me up on the way to the theatre.

(Counters wiped down, meatballs started.)

3. When is the next time you will kiss someone?

What, other than a kiss on the cheek? The last time I kissed somebody properly was like in 2007. So the answer to this question is probably when hell freezes over, when I get counsel from the Pope or when Tony Abbott gains a moral compass, christian ethics and a spine. So yeah, other than the odd peck on the cheek, which doesn't count, I couldn't tell you.

(Found the couch under all the crap what was on it. Filed papers away)

4. What color shirt are you wearing?

I'm not wearing a shirt. Currently wearing a grey dress and black leggings - what I wore out last night. I like this outfit because it can be dressed up and down. Leggings are the best things ever, as long as they're worn under dresses and tops, not as outerwear.

(Stroppy letter written for somebody to check)

5. How long is your hair?

My hair is pretty long. Currently very, very red, it's getting down near my bra strap at the back. I've always had long hair.

(Meat balls made)

6. Are you good looking?

I don't think I'm good looking. I'm not ugly, but I'm nothing to write home about either. At least I'm not hung up on being good looking. For me it's enough that people don't throw rocks at me in the street.

(Stroppy letter sent)

7. Last movie you watched?

According to my little book, the last movie I watched in a cinema was Ralph Fiennes "The Invisible Woman" which was great. The last movie I watched on tell, in full, was "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" which is my favourite movie (and book) of the lot of them.

(Washing up done)

8. Who were you with?

On both occasions, I was on my own.

9. Last thing you ate?

I had fruit toast and marmalade after the gym this morning. Normal fare on a Sunday Morning after pump.

10. Last thing you drank?

I'm drinking a cup of hibiscus tea as I write this.

(Banking prepared)

11. When was the last time you had your heart broken?

Last night. Don't want to talk about it. Happens fairly regularly. I'll get over it.Always do.

(Bills paid)

12. Who came over last?

The last person to come into my flat was Kitt last Sunday when she dropped off her cat. She's currently in Fiji and her cat is asleep on my bed. Expecting a friend for dinner in a few hours.

13. Are you happy right now?

Getting there. See question 11. Having a lovely quiet jobs day at home, never a bad thing.

14. What did you say last?

On leaving the cafe after the gym, said see you tomorrow or see you next weekend - depending on who it was.

15. Where is your phone?

On my bedside table, charging. It's also on silent so I don't have to talk to anybody. Don't feel like talking to anybody today. Will turn on the ringer later when a friend is due over for dinner.

(Dishes dried and put away)

16. What color are your eyes?

Dark green. Sometimes they look dark blue, sometimes they look grey, but generally they're dark green. Never met anybody with my colour eyes.

(Made lunch - omelette and toast)

17. Are you left-handed?

Sort of. I'm ambidextrous, so the left hand gets jobs to do. In particular, scissors - I can do most things with both hands quite able. Scissors, on the other hand, I can only use with my left.

(Lunch dishes done)

18. When was the last time you received flowers

I think it was for my birthday last year. My friends are reasonably good about getting me flowers, which is a nice thing. They make the house smell pleasant.

19. Do you have any pets?

No, but I have rental cats. Friends bring their cats over when they go on holidays and I get to look after them. Aren't I lucky. Currently Mrs Squeaky Puss is with me. The demanding beast insists on being cradled like a teddy bear all night, sleeps on the pillow and puked up this morning. Normal cat behaviour.

20. Favorite Vacation?

Anywhere I can learn something. I have a hankering to go back to Europe at the moment. And Japan. So many countries, so little time. The most favourite holiday I've had was a 35 day round the world jaunt which was brilliant. 10 days in Spain was just amazing.

(Hoovered the place out. Toilet cleaned)
21. What do you dislike currently?

Most of the policies of our inept Federal Government, where do you want me to start? The complete destruction of any environmental policy? The $7 GP Co-payment? What they're doing to higher education? The complete ineptitude of the speaker? The fact that we have a moron attempting to run the place only to be shown up as a belligerent noddy? What we're doing to asylum seekers? Seriously, do you have to ask me what I don't like at the moment...

(Started the ironing)

22. What are you listening to?

Being a touch melancholy at the moment, I've had Damien Rice on in the car. Normally it's The Pixies or Nick Cave, but at the moment, Damien Rice is the business.

(A bit more ironing is done)

23. If you could have one thing right now what would it be?

Probably the person who's causing the melancholy if I'm being honest. But as that's not going to happen, a small lottery win to cover a decent month holiday in Spain and potential tuition fees would be lovely. The return of the cat's mother would also be nice as I'm sick of taking anti-histamines and not having the pillow to myself.

(Fed Cat)

24. What is your favorite scent?

I love smelling nice things. Some of my favourites:

Vanilla pods
Stella McCartney perfume
Biscuits baking
Roses
Dogs paws first thing in the morning (strange one that one)
Clean bloke
Puppies
The beach on a hot day

(More ironing done)

25. Who makes you happiest?

My friends. They're all really wonderful. I also love spending time with my sister's dog and my best mate's cat. Sounds odd, but I feel very much me when I commune with animals.

(More ironing done)

26. What were you doing at midnight last night?

I was in bed, cuddling the cat like it was a teddy bear - at her insistence.

27. When is your birthday?

Mid August. Winter baby.

28. Who has the same phone as you?

Half the world as an iPhone 5. It's very common.

29. Last time you went swimming in a pool?

Earlier this year. I was on holiday in Bali and was in the pool every day. It was wonderful. Love swimming. Should do it more.

Right, that takes me to a time when I should break open the books.

Thanks for helping me get my jobs done.

Jobs are a good thing when feeling melancholy. So's music, in moderation. That one's lovely but probably doesn't do much to stem the sadness...
Hope everything's OK. Give me a call anytime.

I enjoyed your answers and getting a peek into your life...giggled at some of the answers, nodded in agreement at others. Good job with a lame meme!

I love the idea of doing chores between each question! If I did that even occasionally, my house would be SO FREAKIN' CLEAN! :-)

" the person who's causing the melancholy" - allow me to finish this sentence:

"Needs to be slapped." He is crazy for doing that to you!

Hi Pand,

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is my fave HP book!

"Mid August. Winter baby." - Love it! Mrs PM is a "Mid August Summer Baby" - or rainy baby given the weather we usually get here.

:0)

Cheers

PM

I'm sorry about the heartbreak, but I really did enjoy reading your answers. It took me a while to realize you're Down Under vs. British... duh, me!

Oh, Damian Rice... I must dig out my CDs of his.
