So, Now What?

I've spent part of the last three weeks plotting and planning.

What, you say, you've been overseas - how can you start organising your life? Well, what else are you supposed to do when you're traipsing around the streets of Paris. It's a great place to sort your life out.

So, I'm now between jobs. I want to make the most of this time off, especially as I don't know when I'll be working again (Hopefully soon).

Anyway, now what?

1) Keep to a working schedule.

The holidays are over. The goal is to be up and about by eight a.m. Besides, the cat will need feeding by then. He was most put out when I had an eleven hour sleep last night.

Sleep ins are for weekends only.

The goal is to do an hour of job hunting - you know, get onto LinkedIn, search Seek.com.au make phone calls, send emails, and get on with the job of looking for a job. But that's for an hour day. Once it's done, then that's it for the day.

Then, there's important parts to get on with.

2) Important Thing One - Writing

No excuse, get on with the novel. Take myself to the library so that the small black beast doesn't interrupt. I had a couple of breakthroughs while I was away - I need to keep up the impetus.

3) Important Thing Two - Exercising

Also needs to be done. Coming back after three weeks of continuous walking, and losing two kilos, I'd like to get back into shape. My injuries have abated - there's no excuse - and I have time. An hour of exercise is on the cards. it's good for me.

4) Important Thing Three - Clean Up - Chuck Out - Reorganise

It's time to sort out my flat. I need to Marie Kondo the crap out of the place - though anybody who believes that I could possess only thirty books needs their head read. I want some more room to move.

5) Important Thing Four - Required Reading

With this time, I want to get back into reading. At least 50 pages a day. Again, it's good for the soul. And I've got a lot to read around here.

6) Important Thing Five - Conserve Funds

I'm okay for funds at the moment, but that doesn't mean going out there and spending a lot is not an option. The rent and bills get paid, I cook a lot, I don't buy crap I don't need and hopefully find some feet and tarot customers over the next while to bring in a bit of beer money.

This plan also means that I can get to see people for lunch and do some fun things - just not expensive ones.

Well, that's the plan.

Sensible? Realistic?

I think this time off is a matter of looking after me, my finances and my mental health.

If I'm honest, I think a couple more weeks off will be a good thing.
