I am back from Europe. I've only been back from for about 24 hours, but I feel like I've had a holiday.
This is a good thing, but the jetlag hasn't kicked in yet. I got home to my place at about 8 p.m. Remember, when you have a flight from Paris, France, to Perth, Australia, it's a bit discombobulating. Then there was a four-hour wait in Perth (thank goodness for lounge access and a decent shower) then another three hours on a plane back to Melbourne.
Fun, he!
So now, there's October to deal with, once the tiredness settles. I thought I'd get the questions out of the way early. Summon up some energy to go and collect the cat. I think there might be hostage negotiations involved. They've been feeding him very well by the sounds of things.
Anyway, here's this week's questions, supplied, as always, by Sunday Stealing.
During September, did you ...
1. Drink alcohol?
Yes, but not to excess. I remembered that I like drinking white wine with ice. It keeps you hydrated.
2. Try a new recipe?
No. I did very little cooking in September because I was either away or on vacation for a lot of it.
3. Go shopping with friends?
Not really. I did have a good time shopping with one of my friends on holiday where I got a lot of the souvenirs I brought home.
4. Eat an entire box of cookies by yourself?
I will say yes to this, but in my defense it a twelve pack of Lotus Biscoff biscuits when I was unwell in Paris. Biscoff fixes most things.
5. Dye your hair?
Well, my hairdresser did. That's called maintenance.
What these questions don't address are the good things I did like:
- Finished up at my job.
- Traveled around the world
- Had fun with friends in England
- Went on a writer's retreat in France.
- Spoke French for a fortnight
- Rode the Tube and Metro in London and Paris.
- Went to Versailles and was unimpressed by the crowds.
- Went to Notre Dame and was unimpressed by the crowds.
- Explored lots of old churches
- Made new friends
- Had a breakthrough with my novel
- Ate a lot of French food *(oh my heavens, the BUTTER)
- Lost two kilograms (from all the walking)
- Got sick
- Got better
- Got my head around going out and looking for work.
