My Friends Call Me Tulip Meme

It's a long weekend. Time to get some study and a bit of housework done. I have an unpleasant duty to fulfil tomorrow morning, after which I may go see another film. Already seen two this weekend. If my study is done, I may do another.

This week's questions come from Sunday Stealing.

For my American readers who wish to know more about chocolate from around the world as mentioned in last week's blog, click here. It's interesting how people have such strong feelings about their chocolate.

Can you stay inside all day without getting bored?

Absolutely. That sounds like bliss to me.

Tell us about a TV show that we should watch.

I'm quite taken with Outlander at the moment, It's really just historical Scottish sort core porn with kilts, but it's a ripping yarn and it's great fun.

When was the last time you were at your home computer all day?

A few weeks ago preparing my assignments for uni.

What websites other than your own do you visit daily?

The local newspapers - www.theage.com.au and www.guardian.co.uk
The weather bureau - www.bom.gov,au
Facebook
My uni web portal.
Brain training: www.lumosity.com
My banking site.

Do you have a favorite day of the week? Why?

Sunday. I get to do what I like on must Sundays. Plus I go to the gym and visit friends. It's nice.

Did you ever watch Saturday morning cartoons? What was your favorite?

They're not on any more, but I was an avid cartoon watcher as a kid. Loved Hong Kong Phooey and the Wacky Races. When I got older I used to love the original X-Men cartoons that were on in England.

Were you a comic book fan?

Other than the odd Archie comics, no.

Did you earn an allowance when you were a kid? How much? Was it tied to chores?

I used to get pocket money for jobs like feeding calves, cleaning up, setting the table and washing the dishes.

What is the fanciest type of car you've ridden in?  What occasion?

I worked for a bit in the car industry in Britain. Other than being behind the wheel of a Lotus Elan once, I think a BMW 8 series was about the best thing I've been in.

What's your favorite sport to watch?

Australian Rules Football and Rugby Union. In small doses. Not really into sport.

Ever tried surfing?

Yes, many years ago.

Have you ever been to a live major team sporting game?

Only the odd game of cricket and Australian Rules footy. It's a bit noisy and crowded for me.

From a scale of 1 to 5 how athletic are you (1=nerd, 5=very athletic)?

I'm about a three - I'm in the gym a few times a week - makes me more active than most.

What's your favorite horror movie?

I genuinely don't watch horror, but I'm quite partial of What We Do in the Shadows - a vampire film from New Zealand. Very, very funny.

What is your favorite cult classic movie?

Donnie Darko. Love that film.

I'm pretty sure The Hunt for the Wilderpeople will become a cult classic soon too.

About how many times do you go to the movies a month?

Generally 3-4. Love movies.

Favorite movie, which one came to your head first?

Three Colours: Blue. Love it.

What if your life was like a movie? What type of movie would it be?

The movie that I think is most like my life is Muriel's Wedding. My life is nothing like Muriel's Wedding, but there are many elements which remind me of a former life.

Do you like long series movies, like "Lord of the Rings"?

Not really, but I do love the Harry Potter films. All of them.

I remember enjoying footy when visiting Australia for 6 weeks. Makes our guys look like wimps! So nice to find another "Outlander" fan.

Thanks for the chocolate link. My problem is I'm in a rural area and a Hershey Bar is about all that is available. Lindt is available at the drug store, but incredibly expensive. Quite good, though. I shall have to look next time I'm in the city and see what else I can find.
